Structures
Maquette for a Revolutionary Street Sign, sprung into being in 2020, whilst temporarily based at home during the global pandemic. Whilst I didn't have access to a print press, I did have a bunch of mount board in a box. This wasn't particularly planned, I made one of the verticals and just let that dictate where to go next.
The next sporadic three dimensional thing to emerge was Map Factory shown above. The original intention with these was to draw them, through lack of utopian architecture in my hometown. So far though, they seem destined just to fulfil a need to think in three dimensions, then live forever more in the studio.
This one is the most recent and untitled as it stands. clearly I've shifted a little here in adding printmaking elements to the architectural form, which is perhaps an inevitable outcome.
They may be sporadic, but they definitely serve to help work things through and remain a source of inspiration in the studio.
